I had the opportunity to visit Jancis Robinson at her home in London on her birthday in 2012 - and gave her a bottle of the just bottled 2010 Maipenrai as a present. She opened it up for a wine party last night and said
... It was served after four very smart red burgundies and was the only one of the five reds that was actually drained to the bottom. Sweet and briary and full of pleasure. Great balance and enough freshness. Pure hedonistic expression of Pinot with a note of mushrooms ...
